Surely we British overseas citizens and the British government could also benefit from the convenience, cost savings and higher turnout impact of internet voting, as demonstrated by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in their world map showing the percentage (of total votes cast per country) of French overseas citizens voting via the Internet .
The map (click link below), shows that 83% of votes cast from the UK were via the Internet, 60% from Spain, 78% from Canada, 62% from the US, 53% from South Africa and 68% from Australia.
It is significant that these countries all have developed communications networks supporting the Internet and also major concentrations of British citizens living outside the UK., who could benefit from similar access in support of their voting rights.
